Kelderman, Flens and van Emden flew on their Aquila CV to secure eloquent 1-2-3
Team LottoNL-Jumbo and Bianchi Aquila CV filled the podium of Dutch National Championships' ITT, taking win with Wilco Kelderman ahead of teammates Rick Flens (+0:42) and Jos van Emden (+0:44) in Emmen (Netherlands) on Wednesday, June 25th. Martijn Keizer and Maarten Tjallingii rounded-out Team LottoNL-Jumbo's triumph taking fifth and sixth respectively behind Tom Dumoulin. The Dutch squad is equipped with innovative Bianchi Aquila CV, collecting impressive results against the time lately, including a strong 5th place by Steven Kruijswijk in Giro d'Italia Treviso-Valdobbiadene time trial.
KELDERMAN: "I’M RIDING A VERY GOOD AQUILA CV"
“I never expected this result - Kelderman said after his victory -. Tom Dumoulin was the man to beat and it was going to be very difficult to be faster than him. But everything came together today. We’re riding on a very good Bianchi Aquila CV and Mathieu Heijboer especially put a lot of time in developing our time trial. That’s why we believed in our chances to finish in the top three. This result is superb”.
FLENS: "GREAT FEELING WITH THE BIKE"
“We have a new bike and I’m feeling great on it. It’s been running quite smoothly for a while now and today, I finally got some reward for it. After everything I did for the team, it was time to ride for myself. That’s why I wanted to make it in the top three so badly” Rick Flens added.

"This is good for the team. We are back on the top because our new bike is magnificent” Jos van Emden, number three, said. Trainer Mathieu Heijboer gave his remarkable help in developing the team for the time trial. “I boosted the project. I love the race against the clock and it hurt me that the development of it was stuck. The introduction of the Bianchi Aquila CV was an important step, but we had to fine-tune everything. We did that in cooperation with Bianchi and AeroPro. That delivered us a beautiful result”.

The Dutchman outsprints Pelucchi and Sinkeldam in York with Oltre XR.2
The wheel is turning for Team Lotto.NL-Jumbo in May. After Bert-Jan Lindeman's podium at Tour de Romandie's stage4, the Dutch team celebrated the first seasonal joy on Saturday May 2nd thanks to youngster Moreno Hofland, the fastest rider in Tour de Yorkshire's stage-2, 174 km from Selby to York (UK). Equipped with Oltre XR.2, Hofland outsprinted Italian Matteo Pelucchi and countryman Ramon Sinkeldam, breaking the season drought and bagging the 11th win of his young career. A much needed confidence boost for the Dutch Team, just one week ahead of the Giro d’Italia start: Hofland will be one of the main sprinting forces in the Pink race taking off in Sanremo on May 9th.

BIANCHI TO OPEN FIRST ITALIAN "BIANCHI CAFE' & CYCLES" IN MILAN
At the eve of its 130th anniversary (it was funded in 1885), Bianchi is back in Milan – the city where it was first established – for the opening of a new venue, set to become a “must” for those who love top quality bicycles, Italian taste and a sporty lifestyle. Bianchi Cafè & Cycles in Via Cavallotti, just a few steps away of the Duomo and Piazza San Babila, will officially open on Tuesday September 30th, with a press presentation and a inauguration party gathering sports, entrepreneurship, show business and media VIPs.
Bianchi adds a new important page to its 130-year history marked by innovative technology and revolutionary materials (including the new invention Countervail® vibration cancelling technology, tested by Nasa), research of the maximum performance for professional athletes but also commuting riders, a superior attention to details and Italian design.
Bianchi owes the innovation of “Bianchi Cafè & Cycles” to Salvatore Grimaldi, owner since 1997, a real example of Italian entrepreneur climbing his way to the top from 1952, when he left his homeland Puglia (Southern Italy) for Sweden, to date.
“Looking at the traditional shops - Grimaldi said – I realized we needed a special place with a very defined personality, and able to permeate Bianchi’s highend products and Italian style. That’s where we came up with the idea of combining together with bike what Italy is best known for all around the World: creativity, design, art, food, wine… That is why I am delighted to finally bring Bianchi Cafè & Cycles in the very heart of Milan.”
The project started in 2010, when the first Bianchi Cafè & Cycles was opened in Stockholm, followed by one in Japan (Tokyo) and three more in Sweden - in Salen, Malmoe and Vasteras. The one in Milan will be the sixth opening, but the project is set to widen more on a global scale: nowadays, Bianchi has a truly international market, with distribution in every Continent and in over 60 Countries.
Bianchi Cafè & Cycles Milano further raises the bar of the whole project. In fact, the new venue in Milan is characterized by wide spaces, the prestigious and fashion location and a wide range of services, including bicycle shops, technical assistance, bike fitting and fined restaurant cafè. Davide Oldani, Italian well known chef with a real passion for sports and cycling, will bring his very personal touch to the opening of Bianchi Cafè & Cycles Milano.
